Site/application has vanished

Hi all,

We've been evaluating Acquia and Drupal for a while and had a test site we'd put together on Acquia's free cloud service.

The site was there and running normally when I last looked at it about 4 hours ago.

But now it has totally vanished, not just that the site is offline but the two applications I had under my Acquia account have also completely vanished.

Has anyone ever seen that happen before or have any ideas?

(I'm the only person with access to the Acquia environment and I haven't logged into it until investigating this problem, and I certainly didn't delete anything recently!)

I'm scratching my head and quite worried that a lot of work has been lost :(

Thanks in advance for any support.

The same has happened to me, I have had a site for about six months and yesterday I tried to access it but was down. It's no longer listed under my applications.

My site URL is/was http://flyfishingjournalhtcd6dhhgd.devcloud.acquia-sites.com/

There was a message sent out a few weeks ago notifying users that their sites would be removed unless they "committed" which, based on the language they used, I thought mean that you had to make a change within 30 days. I have been actively editing my site over the last few days and it has also been deleted.

I didn't get a message, possibly it went to spam but surely they wouldn't permanently delete sites after sending a single vague email?

Well this is pretty nuts, I can't find any record of an email from Acquia warning about sites being deleted either, and it would be even crazier if they were counting 30 days over the Christmas period when people have been away.

If they've just deleted so much work for so many people with so little thought and communication then I'm now a lot more sceptical about adopting them for our Drupal hosting. Just such bad customer service.

My site has disappeared as well. No warning, no communication...just gone. Is there anyone at Acquia that we can contact to get this resolved?

My impression is that they don't seem at all interested - their "support" account on Twitter is not replying: https://twitter.com/acquia_support/with_replies. Maybe they are in denial or hoping we all just shut up and go away.

I've taken Acquia off my list of potential hosting companies because of this - I've never experienced a company just delete data and be so uninterested in the problems they've caused.

Same here.. my site also disappeared, when I login to my account its not there anymore. I never got any email saying my site is going to be deleted. I just emailed help support, hopefully they get back to me asap.

Bad news I'm afraid, I've had confirmation from someone at Acquia support that these sites are gone forever.

For those looking to recover data, the wayback machine is probably your best bet. My site wasn't archived though :(

We are missing some sites since yesterday, too. Even a site, which was currently commited yesterday morning. That´s the opposite of the mail send to us two weeks ago by acquia.

I've lost quite a few free sites as well.. though the one free site that was committed to in time seems to have been taken offline, but I found it using Acquia Dev Desktop as a local clone. However, you can't use the same site/application name when re-uploading, so for consistency's sake your URL will never be the same :(

I also never got any sort of warning email. Very disappointing.
