Being extremely new to Drupal I unsuccessfully trying to migrate my d7 site from Dev Desktop to the cloud. After this, when trying to access my site through the Dev Desktop environment for further development Drupal prompts me to configure my database. After inputting database name and username Drupal outputs the following error:
Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2).
The site was functioning perfectly fine on my local machine before the attempted migration. Is this a common problem?
Is the database server running? Yes, as per dev desktop green lights are a go for mysql and apache
Does the database exist, and have you entered the correct database name? yes, I am even able to manage it through phpmyadmin using :8083
Have you entered the correct username and password? drupaluser & no password, double checked that there was no password through use of the console
Have you entered the correct database hostname? localhost, also tried 127.0.0.1 as suggested in some other threads
I believe something in the attempted migration altered the path to msql.sock, just cant figure out what it is and how to change it back
any other insights into this problem would be extremely helpful
