Hurricane Irene is set to hit the U.S. East Coast, passing near the area of Amazon Web Services' (AWS) US-EAST regional data centers. As Acquia Cloud uses AWS, we thought you'd like to know what we’re doing to prevent outages during this event.
- We've implemented business continuity plans both for our Cloud servers and for key employees who may be impacted. We’re taking extra precautions to ensure backups of your data are up-to-date and stored across multiple AWS availability zones (data centers).
- We're in close contact with AWS. They have activated their business continuity plans and are “making all possible preparations”. AWS has several days of fuel and all other required supplies on site.
- We have administrators standing by in multiple regions with full access to maintain the Acquia Cloud platform.
- We'll continue to regularly monitor the storm's progress and to prepare for any eventuality.
Although we expect you'll continue to see fast and reliable service, we'll let you know of any issues as quickly as possible by publishing them in two ways:
We know how crucial your web properties are to your business, and will do everything we can to keep them running without incident. As always, feel free to contact email@example.com with any questions. Thanks,
