Windows Dev Desktop 2 also SUPER SLOW, 10min + page loads or total failures.

I reported the older Dev Desktop for D6 running slow on Windows. I tried the Dev Desktop 2 package from Acquia as well. Same result. 10min + page loads, if the page ever does load.

Ive done all my drupal "tuning" to php.ini for speed.

default vanilla windows 7 installation (64bit)... happening on 3 different machines in the same way.

this app. doesn't work basically... does ANYONE have advice for getting Drupal to run correctly locally?

I like Acquia, but I can't use what doesn't work.

I am not sure whether this really solves the problem. Probably other people should test this too. My Acquia Dev Desktop 2 on Windows 8 also was very slow. But then I added the following directives in apache/conf/httpd.conf:
AcceptFilter https none
AcceptFilter http none
EnableSendfile Off
EnableMMAP off
And that seems to resolve the issue (for now).
I have found this solution on https://communities.ca.com/thread/241692373.
